Come join us for our AGM where we will be voting for the committee next year. We have had a fantastic year and have currently raised nearly £20,000 for vital water projects in Cameroon.  There will be free Domino’s so make sure you come along even if you aren’t planning on standing for a position.

Roles for Election

1. President

The President is responsible for the organisation and management of the Group and the Committee as a whole. They will ensure the officers’ accountability to Members, the Committee, and the Students’ Union; and represent the Group to all external interests.

2. Design Manager

The Design Manager is responsible for the design of the projects to be constructed in Cameroon. This position involves working closely with external organisations which provide advice on the project, including Article 25 and Hydrogeologists Without Borders.

3. Assistant Design Manager

The assistant design manager is responsible for assisting the design manager, and takes responsibility for the design team in the absence of the design manager.

4. Fundraising Manager

The fundraising manager is responsible for coordinating the fundraising activities of the student team.

5. Treasurer

The Treasurer is responsible for overseeing the finances of the group. This involves cashing in money raised from fundraising events, processing expenses and coordinating the project expenses. The treasurer is also responsible for developing a budget for the project by liaising with the fundraising, grants and design teams.

6. Grants Coordinator

The Grants Manager is responsible for the application for grant funding and grant funding, which can provide a significant source of revenue. This requires identifying potential grant funders, helping collate information from the design team on the projects, and submitting grant applications. The role is supported by a member of the Trustee committee.

7. Social Secretary

The Social Secretary shall organise social nights and socials. There are opportunities for this role to coordinate with other similar societies.

8. Trip Coordinator

The trip coordinator is responsible for helping to organise the summer student trip. This primarily requires the organisation of the flights vaccinations and visas, but there is scope for organising activities in Cameroon such as trekking Mount Cameroon.

9. Secretary

The Secretary is responsible for the administration of the Group, take minutes at General Meetings and Meetings of the Committee, and maintain the register.
